CFI launches a gold CFD that trades seven days a week

Dubai-based CFI added XAUUSD-24H, joining a growing group of brokers that quote gold over weekends.

CFI Financial Group has launched a gold contract for difference (CFD) that can be traded seven days a week, according to Finance Magnates on 1 October 2026. The instrument, called Gold 24/7, uses the symbol XAUUSD-24H.

The details

  • The Dubai-based broker says the product is separate from its regular spot gold instrument (XAUUSD), with its own pricing, trading hours and conditions.
  • Trading runs Monday to Sunday, from 00:05 to 23:58 server time.
  • It is offered through selected CFI entities, and availability and conditions depend on jurisdiction and local regulation. Spreads, leverage and the countries where it is live were not disclosed.
  • CFI already offers EUR/USD and USD/JPY over weekends, subject to jurisdiction, and digital asset CFDs that run around the clock.
  • The report lists similar offers from others, including CMC Markets (weekend gold, introduced in April), Match-Prime, Vantage Markets, XM, VT Markets and STARTRADER.
  • Finance Magnates points out that spot and futures markets are closed at weekends, so weekend CFD prices can depend on the broker or its liquidity provider rather than an open underlying venue. It describes products such as XM's GOLD24-7 and Vantage's XAUUSD247 as broker-priced CFDs, not exchange-traded instruments.
  • Match-Prime has said that weekend liquidity is typically thinner than during standard hours.

What it means for clients

Being able to react to weekend headlines is the appeal, but there are trade-offs. With less liquidity and no open reference market, quotes may be wider and moves sharper, and the broker has more discretion over the price shown. Clients should look at how the weekend price is determined, what the spread is outside normal hours and whether margin rules change.

Gold CFDs are leveraged, and most retail clients lose money trading them. This article is general information and not advice.
