Capital.com adds direct stocks and ETFs for clients in Europe

The CFD-focused broker is widening into direct investing, with the UAE and UK listed as next in line.

Capital.com has added direct investing in shares and exchange-traded funds for clients in its European markets, according to Finance Magnates on 28 September 2026. The move extends a business long associated with short-term CFD trading.

The details

  • The offer covers more than 2,280 stocks and ETFs across US and European markets, including local European companies.
  • It is available in nearly all EEA markets. The report does not list the countries that are excluded.
  • The products are sold on an execution-only, non-advised basis, meaning the broker does not recommend what to buy.
  • Capital.com says there is no commission on stock or ETF investments.
  • Clients reach the products through the same onboarding the company uses for other new products, and they sit beside the existing research, charting and portfolio tools on web and app.
  • Europe is the first region. The UAE and the UK are planned for the coming months, with no dates given.
  • Christoforos Soutzis, CEO Europe, said many clients mix short-term views and longer-term holdings in the same week, and the company describes the launch as a step toward a multi-asset investing platform.
  • The article does not name the regulator or licence under which the new products are offered.

What it means for clients

Owning real shares or ETFs differs from trading a CFD. A CFD is a leveraged contract on price movement with overnight financing costs, whereas direct holdings are not leveraged and do not accrue those charges. Both can lose value.

Zero commission does not mean zero cost. Investors typically still need to check currency conversion charges, spreads on the underlying, custody or inactivity fees and the product's own expense ratio for ETFs. Because the licence was not stated in the report, clients may want to confirm which entity holds their account and how assets are protected. This article is general information and not advice.
