PrimeXBT connects AI assistants to demo and live trading accounts

PrimeXBT says clients can connect compatible AI assistants to demo or live accounts on PXTrader 2.0. Assistants can retrieve account information and prepare orders, but each order requires trader confirmation.

PrimeXBT adds AI-assistant connections to trading accounts

PrimeXBT announced on 4 November 2026 that clients can connect compatible AI assistants to demo or live trading accounts on its PXTrader 2.0 platform. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration covers contracts for difference (CFDs) and crypto futures, and allows assistants to retrieve account information and prepare orders. PrimeXBT says an order is not sent until the client confirms it.

What PrimeXBT announced

PrimeXBT's company blog describes MCP as a way to connect a trading account with an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Claude Code. TradeInformer and FinanceMagnates also reported the launch, naming ChatGPT and Claude. PrimeXBT says the integration uses account information, market prices and trading conditions to respond to questions in plain language.

The assistant can retrieve balances, open positions, order and trading history, and market data. It can also answer questions about trading conditions, including costs, margin requirements and account rules. PrimeXBT says the integration offers 30 tools. The company blog says it works with CFDs and crypto perpetual futures on PXTrader 2.0; TradeInformer and FinanceMagnates describe the covered products as CFDs and cryptocurrency or crypto futures.

Users choose between read-only access and permission to read and trade. The assistant can prepare market, limit and stop orders. Before a client confirms an order, the preview can show an estimated price, fees, margin, leverage and liquidation level. A liquidation level is the price at which a position may be closed out. The trading terms glossary explains concepts such as margin and leverage.

How access and order controls work

PrimeXBT says clients connect through a link and their PrimeXBT login, without creating or copying API keys. Its company blog outlines these steps:

  1. In PXTrader 2.0, select Connect AI and choose a supported assistant.
  2. Add PrimeXBT as a connector in the assistant, following the on-screen instructions.
  3. Sign in to PrimeXBT, select an account and choose read-only or read-and-trade access.
  4. Ask questions or prepare an order. Review the order details and confirm before it is sent.

PrimeXBT says each order requires explicit confirmation and that a confirmation can only be used once. The company also says the preview is an estimate: market prices may change between the preview and execution, so the final price can differ. Its blog notes that some assistants have their own requirements; for example, it says ChatGPT requires Developer mode, available with certain subscription plans.

An AI connection does not remove trading risk PrimeXBT says AI assistants can make mistakes, and market prices can change before an order executes. CFDs are complex, and most retail accounts lose money trading them. Leverage can magnify losses as well as gains.

Why the safeguards matter to account holders

The integration brings account information and order preparation into a conversation with an AI assistant. That may change how a client accesses information, but it does not mean the assistant independently decides whether a trade is suitable. PrimeXBT says the client remains responsible for confirming each prepared order.

PrimeXBT and TradeInformer report that the assistant cannot withdraw or transfer funds. PrimeXBT also says clients can turn off access. These limits distinguish the account connection from permission to move money, but they do not establish how a particular client's funds or trading activity are protected under a regulator's rules.

For broker comparisons, an AI feature is separate from a regulatory check. Traders should identify the PrimeXBT entity they would contract with and check that entity against the relevant regulator's register. A platform feature or licence should not be treated as a guarantee against trading or counterparty risk; protections and eligibility depend on the entity and jurisdiction.

Background: MCP and PrimeXBT's separate API

MCP is the connection method PrimeXBT uses to let compatible AI assistants access selected account functions. PrimeXBT describes it as a link to assistants clients already use, rather than its own AI system. Senior market analyst Jonatan Randin told FinanceMagnates that the integration brings “real trading data and functionality into the AI assistants people already know and use.”

PrimeXBT also introduced a separate Trading API, reported by TradeInformer and FinanceMagnates. That API provides programmatic access to market data, order execution and position management for uses such as trading bots, custom analytics and external applications. TradeInformer says its security controls include two-factor authentication and optional IP restrictions; both TradeInformer and FinanceMagnates report that the API cannot be used to deposit, withdraw or transfer funds.

The distinction is that MCP connects an assistant to an account for conversation-based queries and order preparation, while the API is for software integrations and automated strategies. PrimeXBT says MCP is not intended for automated, around-the-clock trading and points users seeking that functionality to its Trading API.

FinanceMagnates reported that other providers set different rules for AI access. It said B2Broker lets brokers choose between disabling MCP, read-only access and full access that can permit agents to place, modify and close trades. At PrimeXBT, by contrast, each prepared order requires the client's confirmation, according to the reports.

What traders should check next

PrimeXBT's announcement applies to PXTrader 2.0 and the products described in its notice. Before connecting an assistant, clients should check the current platform instructions, the permissions requested and the account selected. They should also review the order preview rather than assume an estimate will match the execution price.

For a broker assessment, check the contracting entity and its regulatory status on the relevant regulator's register, then assess the protections that apply in the client's jurisdiction. The AI announcement describes a platform feature; it does not itself establish a change to a broker licence or client-protection rules.
